Wednesday March 13, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Only when you stop blaming others for your situation will you move forward and get into your intended destiny and purpose-
2-A friend is someone who listens closely while you say nothing-
3-No one who gave their best ever regretted it-
4-We are what we repeatedly do.  Excellence then is not an act but a habit-
5-A good friend will always be there for you, no matter what-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Is it okay to use the AM radio in the afternoon?
I'VE LEARNED-Three things in life are important. The first is to be kind, the second is to be kind, and the third is to be kind-
DID YOU KNOW-Russia built more than ten thousand miles of railroad between 1896 and 1900-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What and where is the "bottomless pit"?
2-The beast and the false prophet get cast into a lake of fire.  What and where is that?
3-Satan is put in the bottomless pit for a thousand years.  Is this literally or is it "a thousand years is like a day..."?
4-Who is Gog and Magog?
5-What is the 2nd death?
BIBLE TRIVIA-Who took bones out of tombs and burned them on an altar to defile it?
Yesterday's answer-Adonijah    1 Kings 1:50
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY    John 18:1-11

18 When Jesus finished praying, he went with his followers across the Kidron Valley. On the other side there was a garden, and Jesus and his followers went into it.
Judas knew where this place was, because Jesus met there often with his followers. Judas was the one who turned against Jesus. So Judas came there with a group of soldiers and some guards from the leading priests and the Pharisees. They were carrying torches, lanterns, and weapons.
Knowing everything that would happen to him, Jesus went out and asked, “Who is it you are looking for?”
They answered, “Jesus from Nazareth.”
“I am he,” Jesus said. (Judas, the one who turned against Jesus, was standing there with them.) When Jesus said, “I am he,” they moved back and fell to the ground.
Jesus asked them again, “Who is it you are looking for?”
They said, “Jesus of Nazareth.”
“I told you that I am he,” Jesus said. “So if you are looking for me, let the others go.” This happened so that the words Jesus said before would come true: “I have not lost any of the ones you gave me.”
10 Simon Peter, who had a sword, pulled it out and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear. (The servant’s name was Malchus.) 11 Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword back. Shouldn’t I drink the cup[a] the Father gave me?”

Footnotes:

  1. 18:11 cup Jesus is talking about the painful things that will happen to him. Accepting these things will be very hard, like drinking a cup of something bitter.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying man Father, we come to you as sinners; poor and needy, weak and wounded, sick and sore, weary and wounded by the fall. How eternally grateful we are that Jesus stands ready to save us and empower us through His mighty Holy Spirit. As we arise and go to Him He embraces us with His loving compassion, and complete pardon for our sins. In Him we have unending blessings both now and forevermore. Amen.
LIVE SIMPLY! LOVE GENEROUSLY! CARE DEEPLY! SPEAK KINDLY! LEAVE THE REST WITH GOD!!
