Saturday September 15, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Try to be a channel of blessing to all you meet-
2-Small cheer and a great welcome make a great feast-
3-Make your home a place of ministry to all who the Lord sends your way-
4-Your choices control your calendar and as a result your life-
5-The donation of your life will count for more than the duration-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Yesterday I pushed my luck.  It was clearly too weak to move by itself-

I'VE LEARNED-Everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile-

DID YOU KNOW-The bowling ball was invented in 1862-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How many golden calves had the Israelites built and worshipped?
2-Is God ever tolerant of other deities?
3-How do you worship God  "in spirit and in truth"?
4-Why did God say that those who break the 2nd commandment hate him?
5-Is Jesus made in the image of God?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What king was confronted by a prophet posing as wounded soldier?
Yesterday's answer-The chief priests and scribes   Luke 20:19-20

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY     Matthew 27:57-61
57 That evening a rich man named Joseph, a follower of Jesus from the town of Arimathea, came to Jerusalem.58Joseph went to Pilate and asked to have Jesus' body. So Pilate gave orders for the soldiers to give it to Joseph.59Then Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth.60 He put Jesus' body in a new tomb that he had cut out of a wall of rock, and he rolled a very large stone to block the entrance of the tomb. Then Joseph went away.61 Mary Magdalene and the other woman named Mary were sitting near the tomb.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, there is nothing on earth that compares with the joy and peace that wells up within our hearts when our sins are forgiven and we begin our journey on the straight and narrow path that leads to righteousness. There are many other messages out there attempting to detour us from the straight and narrow path. Certainly there are testings and trials that will weigh us down or attempt to sidetrack us. But we believe these testings will become a testimony in our lives of the Good News that Jesus who is the Christ has forever changed us. It spurs us on to share this good news with others to equip for them for here and now, and prepare them for eternity in heaven. May we be faithful in sowing the seeds. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

TODAY WILL NEVER COME AGAIN. BE A BLESSING. BE A FRIEND. ENCOURAGE SOMEONE. TAKE TIME TO CARE. LET YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS HEAL AND NOT WOUND.
