Wednesday September 5, 2012 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-You shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands, you need to be able to throw something back-
2-If you pursue happiness, it will elude you.  If you focus on the needs of others and doing the best you can, it will find you-
3-Whenever I decide something with kindness I usually make the right decision-
4-everyone can use a prayer-
5-Even when I have a pain I don't have to be one-

STRANGE THOUGHT-If you don't set a goal, you will never reach it-

I'VE LEARNED-Simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult-

DID YOU KNOW-There are two sports in which the team has to move backwards to win-tug of war and rowing-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why did God chose the Hebrew people as the ones through whom Jesus would be sent?
2-Did Jesus have to be born a Jew?
3-Did God provide a way to heaven for peoples who never heard about Jesus?
4-Is there any effect of prayer for the soul of someone who has already died?
5-What happens to the prayers for someone's salvation who never accepted Jesus as savior?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who pretended to be a madman in order to escape from King Ashish?
Yesterday's answer-Leah   Genesis 29:21-25

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY    Matthew 27:11-14
11 Jesus stood before Pilate the governor, and Pilate asked him, "Are you the king of the Jews?"
Jesus answered, "Those are your words."
12 When the leading priests and the elders accused Jesus, he said nothing.
13 So Pilate said to Jesus, "Don't you hear them accusing you of all these things?"
14 But Jesus said nothing in answer to Pilate, and Pilate was very surprised at this.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
August 14, 2012
Praying manFather, all wisdom, knowledge, and understanding needed for life and godliness is contained in the Holy Scriptures. Help us to be careful, attentive students of the Word, ever learning, and always applying that which the prophets of old and disciples of Christ have revealed to us through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. That which shines so brightly on the horizon of our lives today will someday fade and vanish away, but the Word of our God stands forever and is demonstrated in our lives for all eternity. Amen.

LIVE SIMPLY! LOVE GENEROUSLY! CARE DEEPLY! SPEAK KINDLY! LEAVE THE REST WITH GOD!!
