Tuesday September 4, 2012 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Evil flourishes because good people allow their differences to divide them instead of allowing the things on which they agree to unite them-
2-Prayer is a dialogue not a monologue-
3-Righteousness cannot be legislated.  Kindness, understanding and love must come from the heart, not as a dutiful response to a law-
4-No amount of willpower can instantly overcome deep seated resentment or hatred, it is only through understanding how much God loves you-
5-Life sometimes gives you a second chance-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Everything has beauty but not everyone sees it-

I'VE LEARNED-Sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand-

DID YOU KNOW-In the United States, more Frisbee discs are sold each year than baseballs, basketballs, and footballs combined-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What is the oldest civilization on earth?
2-Do the roots of all peoples whoever lived go back to Adam and Eve?
3-Where do racial skin colors originate from?
4-How did all the land areas of the earth become populated especially those separated by large oceans?
5-Were the Old Testament Israelites the original peoples of earth?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who fooled Jacob by posing as his sister?
Yesterday's answer-Saul   1 Samuel 28:8

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY    Matthew 27:3-10
3 Judas, the one who had given Jesus to his enemies, saw that they had decided to kill Jesus. Then he was very sorry for what he had done. So he took the thirty silver coins back to the priests and the leaders,4 saying, "I sinned; I handed over to you an innocent man."
The leaders answered, "What is that to us? That's your problem, not ours."
5 So Judas threw the money into the Temple. Then he went off and hanged himself.
6 The leading priests picked up the silver coins in the Temple and said, "Our law does not allow us to keep this money with the Temple money, because it has paid for a man's death."7 So they decided to use the coins to buy Potter's Field as a place to bury strangers who died in Jerusalem.8 That is why that field is still called the Field of Blood.9 So what Jeremiah the prophet had said came true: "They took thirty silver coins. That is how little the Israelites thought he was worth. 10 They used those thirty silver coins to buy the potter's field, as the Lord commanded me."

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, thank You for speaking to us through Your Word, other believers, and through serious events in our lives. You beamed Your searchlight from the portals of heaven to show us how lost we were. We’re tremendously blessed to know that celestial beings held a celebration in heaven when we  chose to be Your followers. Though misplacing material things leads to time lost and great frustration, misplacing our faith leads to error and eternal damnation. Father, You’ve shown us the way and instructed us, “This is the way; walk in it.” Help us to seek out others who’ve yet to find the way so that they too will follow You and cause rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents. We pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-
