Thursday September 20, 2012 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Christians are to be salt seasoning that brings out the God flavors of this earth-
2-Fear can protect us from harm and danger and it can hinder us from fulfilling God's purposes-
3-Your Christian service can be great without being a great service-
4-True greatness is not found in the visible exercise of power but in the practice of humble service-
5-So many people would rather carry a grudge than carry a cross-

STRANGE THOUGHT-People who speak more than they listen should consider how peculiar they would look if they had two mouths and one ear-

I'VE LEARNED-When you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere-

DID YOU KNOW-Sports Illustrated has the largest sports magazine circulation-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Does your resurrected body and soul reunite?
2-Why did Jesus not want his disciples to touch his resurrected body?
3-What is the "second death"?
4-After death, when does the judgement occur?
5-If the soul goes directly to be with Jesus, does it bypass the "judgement"?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who had a vision of a prostitute with a city's name engraved on her head?
Yesterday's answer-Solomon   1 Kings 3:16

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY     Matthew 28:16-20
16 The eleven followers went to Galilee to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.17 On the mountain they saw Jesus and worshiped him, but some of them did not believe it was really Jesus. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All power in heaven and on earth is given to me. 19 So go and make followers of all people in the world. Baptize them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach them to obey everything that I have taught you, and I will be with you always, even until the end of this age."

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, all that we have is a gift from You, including that which comes to us through the work of our hands. You provide for us as you see beforehand all that we have need of. We’re confident that You bless people who work by the sweat of their brow, responsibly caring for those in their charge. For some who have lost their jobs and fear that their home or life savings is in jeopardy we pray that You would open a door of gainful employment. Until then it is reassuring to know that Your daily provisions come in the most unexpected ways when it is not within our own ability to earn an income. Help us to remember that no matter what our circumstance we are entirely reliant on Your benevolent kindness to us. Amen.

MAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE LOVE TO SHARE, HEALTH TO SPARE AND FRIENDS THAT CARE!
