Monday September 1, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-When you sin, you give satan authority over you-
2-Faith means- "I trust you"-
3-Basically, sin is saying-I don't trust you God-
4-Jesus crucifixion was more than the physical pain he endured, it was about trusting his father-
5-Jesus was an epitome of trust-

STRANGE THOUGHT-The severity of the itch is inversely proportional to the place of the itch-

I'VE LEARNED-Even thought I have pains, I don't have to be one-

DID YOU KNOW-Lincoln's Gettysburg Address consisted of just 272 words-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What was Isaac's reaction to Rebekah's part in the deception?
3-Why did Jacob obey his mother's instruction to deceive his father Isaac
when he knew it was wrong and he would suffer a curse for doing it?
4-Is it always right to obey your parents, especially when you know it to be wrong?
5-How did Esau react to learning his own mother participated in cheating him out of his future?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who along with Moses saw God during the wilderness wanderings?
Answer for today   Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and 70 of the Israelite elders   Exodus 24:9-10

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY    Joshua 1:6-9
“Joshua, be strong and brave! You must lead these people so they can take the land that I promised their fathers I would give them. Be strong and brave. Be sure to obey all the teachings my servant Moses gave you. If you follow them exactly, you will be successful in everything you do. Always remember what is written in the Book of the Teachings. Study it day and night to be sure to obey everything that is written there. If you do this, you will be wise and successful in everything. Remember that I commanded you to be strong and brave. Don’t be afraid, because the Lord your God will be with you everywhere you go.”

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Thankful manFather, You want us to have peace instead of fear. Therefore You speak to our hearts many times, “Fear not” and give us many reasons why we are not to be fearful people. The most compelling reason that we need not fear is that You promise never to leave us nor forsake us. You are our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble. So we ask that You embolden us and fill our hearts with courage in place of fear. As someone once said, “Courage is fear that has said its prayers.”

GREATLY BLESSED, HIGHLY FAVORED, IMPERFECT BUT FORGIVEN CHILD OF GOD!
