Friday October 10, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-The spirit of the gift which God gave to us (Jesus) now lives in the believer-
2-Being content is different than being complacent-
3-Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it (attitude)-
4-When consistency becomes complacency, it is time for a change-
5-Complacency is the primary obstacle in your growth as a Christian-

STRANGE THOUGHT-You are never too old to learn something stupid-

I'VE LEARNED-With God's help you can bounce back-

DID YOU KNOW-Vincent Van Gogh decided to become an artist when he was twenty seven years old-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How long after Mary became Joseph's wife was Jesus born?
2-Did Joseph know what the "Holy Spirit" was?
3-To whom did the angel Gabriel tell that Mary's child was to be named Jesus?
4-Did Joseph understand the angel telling him that Mary's child should be named "Jesus" because he would save his people from their sins"?
5-Why wasn't Mary's child named "Emmanuel" as the old testament prophet said he would be?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What happened to the rebellious Korah and his men?
Answer for today    They were swallowed up by the earth    Numbers 16:28-33

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY   John 14:27
27 “I leave you peace; my peace I give you. I do not give it to you as the world does. So don’t let your hearts be troubled or afraid.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Father, it is because of Jesus; His loving compassion toward us evident in His incarnation, His ministry, His death and resurrection, that we willingly and joyfully bow on our knees and confess with our tongue that Jesus Christ is Lord. We deny ourselves the world and all that it offers to make Jesus our Lord. For some of us it is a commitment without a great deal of fallout but for others it can ostracize them from their family, their village, or even cost them their lives. Whether in life or death we want to be among those who bear witness of the truth, and are willing to suffer death in the cause of Christ (Acts 22:20; Rev. 2:13; 17:6). We pray for our brothers and sisters in Syria and in others regions of this world who are undergoing persecution, many of them fleeing for their lives and others laying down their lives for the cause of Christ. How consoling to know that this is not the end but they have received the victor’s crown of eternal life where there will be no more hardship, no persecution, nor a trace of sin. Keep us faithful no matter what, in the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

SMILE, LAUGH, FORGIVE, BELIEVE AND LOVE, OVER AND OVER AGAIN!
