Wednesday October 15, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-God doesn't fill you just to be full, but so you can give out-
2-God blesses us so we can be a blessing to others-
3-Jesus used the word "water" to describe our relationship with God-
4-Whether we know it or not, we need  God's mercy-
5-As Christians we need to show mercy to others-

STRANGE THOUGHT-The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese-

I'VE LEARNED-Diligence and consistency are brothers-

DID YOU KNOW-Despite his great scientific and artistic achievement, Leonardo DA Vince was most proud of his ability to bend iron with his bare hands-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Luke says that Simeon was waiting for "the Lord's Christ".  Is there any special meaning in the way this is stated?
2-How many siblings did Jesus have?
3-If Joseph died while Jesus was a young man, would he have been responsible to provide for his mother and siblings?
4-The death of a parent is a traumatic event.  Why didn't Jesus ever refer to it (Joseph's passing)?
5-Why would the "spirit" lead Jesus into the desert to be tempted by Satan?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What hid the departing Israelites?
Answer for today   a cloud  Exodus 14:19-20

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY   Psalm 25:5
Guide me in your truth,
And teach me, my God, my Savior.
I trust you all day long.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Father, there is no sin too great that Your mercy is not greater. We were born with a sin problem, but You provided the solution for our sin sick souls through the wondrous sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ. We could never be good enough, rich enough, famous enough – nothing we offer is enough. Anything we have to give is sin-based because of our human condition and all that Christ offers is sin-less because He is the Lamb without blemish. Only Jesus, the sinless Lamb of God, is enough to pay for our sins. His payment made in full makes us a new creation, taking away our old attitudes and behaviours born of this world and replaces them with the new attitudes and behaviors born of the Spirit. Thank You for the living water that quenches our eternal thirst through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

LIVE SIMPLY! LOVE GENEROUSLY! CARE DEEPLY! SPEAK KINDLY! LEAVE THE REST WITH GOD!!
