Wednesday October 22, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-There is no growth in your life without change.  There is no change without loss (you've got to let go of some old stuff).  There is no loss without pain-
2-Your character is the sum total of your habits-
3-The greatest of all faults is to be conscious of none-
4-You'll never get it all together as long as you pretend you've got it all together-
5-There was no death on the earth until sin entered the world-

STRANGE THOUGHT-If after touring a coca cola plant, do they give you a pop quiz?

I'VE LEARNED-Regret and shame fuel worry-

DID YOU KNOW-Albert Einstein couldn't speak fluently when he was nine.  His parents thought he might be mentally retarded-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Scripture says that Jesus could not enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places.  Where was this?
2-When the paralyzed man was let into the house through the roof , Jesus said to him "Your sins are forgiven," not "you are healed."  Did sin cause his paralysis?
3-Jesus was criticized for healing a man on the Sabbath.  Was this a perfect example of love vs legalism?
4-Under what circumstances, if any, may the letter of the law be disregarded in favor of higher concerns consistent with the spirit of the law?
5-Did Jesus consider the Law given through Moses to be binding on his disciples?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What was Moses supposed to do to the rock at Horeb to bring water from it?

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY     1 Peter 1:3
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In God’s great mercy he has caused us to be born again into a living hope, because Jesus Christ rose from the dead.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Father, we thank You that You shine Your light through us most especially in unusual circumstances in which we find ourselves. We are to let our lights shine before others that they may see our good works and glorify You in heaven. There are times when we cry out, “No More! I just can’t do this anymore.” But Father, in Your infinite wisdom You give us daily strength and spiritual resolve to carry on in the darkest of circumstances so that the light of Christ might be made manifest in our lives. We will carry the light of Your salvation through our words, our actions, and the way in which we seek to be fruitful and bloom where we are planted. It’s in Jesus’ name that we pray. Amen.

WEDNESDAY-LIVE SIMPLY! LOVE GENEROUSLY! CARE DEEPLY! SPEAK KINDLY! LEAVE THE REST WITH GOD!!
