Monday October 13, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Do not be afraid or worried when you are sick.  Settle all outstanding issues beforehand and you will be able to leave without regret-
2-"We walk by faith not by sight"-
3-Happy moments praise God, difficult moments seek God, quiet moments worship God, painful moments trust God-
4-Four things to treasure in life-
1-your body-pay attention to your health-
2-Your family-they are your flesh and blood-
3-Your companion-treasure every moment with each other for one of you will leave first-
4-Take all opportunities to meet up with your friend for such opportunities will become rare as time goes by-
5-God loves you because of who he is, not because of anything you did or did not do-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Change is inevitable except from a vending machine-

I'VE LEARNED-What frustration is to yesterday, apprehension is to tomorrow-

DID YOU KNOW-Alexander Graham Bell never telephoned his mother or wife.  They were both deaf-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Did the shepherds have any idea where to look for the baby Jesus?
2-How soon after Jesus' birth did the shepherds find him?
3-How long did the holy family stay at the inn stable?
4-To whom  did the shepherds tell their angelic visitation and the baby Jesus visitation story to?
5-Did the shepherds who saw Jesus as a baby and worship him also follow him as adults 30 years later?

BIBLE TRIVIA-For how long did the thick darkness hang over the Egyptians?
Answer for today    three days   Exodus 10:21-23

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY     Psalm 138:6
Though the Lord is supreme,
He takes care of those who are humble,
But he stays away from the proud.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Praying manFather, it is by grace that we are saved, not of works lest we boast of the power we have to save ourselves. Instead we boast only in the privilege of knowing You and the power of Your resurrection. You exercise  loving kindness, judgment and righteousness in the earth and Your grace knows no bounds. We are grateful recipients of Your boundless grace and merciful kindness. May it spur us on to exercise mercy and grace to those around us. In the gracious name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, and enough hope to make you happy-
