Tuesday October 21, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Surrendering to God is not putting your brain in neutral and giving up rational thinking-
2-Hard work without talent is a shame, but talent without hard work is a tragedy-
3-Love is not a feeling of happiness, it is a willingness to sacrifice-
4-If you want what everyone else has, do what everyone else is doing.  If you want what few people have, do what few people are doing-
5-We are all influenced by our society-

STRANGE THOUGHT-The future is the past returning through another door-

I'VE LEARNED-A true friend is a work of the heart

DID YOU KNOW-Isaac Newton was a member of Parliament-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What most excited the people about Jesus during his ministry?
2-How was Jesus' teaching in the synagogue different from that of the teachers of the law?
3-When Jesus cast out some demons he wouldn't let them speak because they knew who he was.  How did they know?
4-Why did the demons know who Jesus was yet the people didn't?
5-Scripture says that Jesus healed every disease and sickness when people came to him.  Why doesn't that happen today?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who was slain by the angel of death?
Answer for today   The firstborn among the Egyptians    Exodus 12:29-30

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY    Psalm 68:3
But those who do right should be glad
    And should rejoice before God;
They should be happy and glad.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying man Father, for Your creation which reaches back to the beginning of time and for that which is created this very moment we recognize You as our sovereign Lord. All that we have and all that we are is an act of Your generous and benevolent mercy extended to all generations, past, present and future. God of this morning, we thank You for the opportunities this day provides for us to sing to You a new song and to bring glory to Your name. God of tomorrow, we trust You for that which will bring about rejoicing and that which will bring forth sorrow, gain or loss. Blessed be the name of the One who gives and takes away. God of past ages, You are the same yesterday, today and forever. We trust in You – forever faithful, changing never God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, three in One. Amen.

I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING!
