Thursday October 16, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Our giving to God's work should be an expression of our thanksgiving to him-
2-Faith is more than a noun, it is also a verb-
3-It takes discipline to live a life of faith-
4-Often there are things in our life that are the will of God for us that don't make sense-
5-What goes on in our life causes us to form value judgements about our relationship with God-

STRANGE THOUGHT-To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target-

I'VE LEARNED-You are never discouraged and big headed at the same time-

DID YOU KNOW-Thomas Edison had a collection of more than five thousand birds-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How could Jesus do a complete fast for 40 days and nights and still live?
2-Did Jesus ever have discussions with his parents about where he came from, his deity, future events in his earthly life, etc?
3-Was Jesus ever tempted with fleshly appetites?
4-Did Jesus ever own anything?
5-Did Jesus ever have to deal with pride?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who was made leprous and then healed after her rebellious acts?
Answer for today   Miriam    Numbers 12

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY    Matthew 9:36
36 When he saw the crowds, he felt sorry for them because they were hurting and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Father, we thank You that the veil was taken away when we left this world and turned to You.  We, who now have unveiled faces contemplate Your glory even as we are being transformed into the image of Christ with ever-increasing glory, which comes from You. But even still our flesh battles our spirit from day to day as we travel through this life so we must regularly weigh-in on the scales of Your Holy Word to see where we are lacking. We need regular perspective from Your Holy Word, lest we form attitudes and behaviors that reflect the pattern of this world. We want to be transformed daily by the renewing of our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus that we might be more and more like Him. It is in His name that we pray. Amen.

MAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE LOVE TO SHARE, HEALTH TO SPARE AND FRIENDS THAT CARE
