Tuesday February 16, 2010 thought for the day

Friends!!
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Beware the fury of a patient man-
2-There is a vast difference between reading the Bible and being a student of the Bible-
3-The only way to see the rainbow is by looking through the rain-
4-Impressions are influenced by what we want-
5-Obstacles are what you see when you take your eyes off the goal-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Is there an outer edge to the universe?
I'VE LEARNED-Be first to congratulate an opponent who succeeds-be the last to criticize one who fails-
DID YOU KNOW-While at Harvard University, Edward Kennedy was suspended for cheating on a Spanish exam.
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Tax collectors in Jesus day were usually Roman, so how did Zacheous, a Jew become a chief tax collector?
2-How could Zacheous, a man of little stature, become so important a person to the Roman authorities?
3-Why would non Jewish people have accepted the beliefs and practices of the Jewish religion?
4-Who were the Greeks that came to Jerusalem to worship?
5-Why was the shekel and half shekel the only coins acceptable to buy temple offerings with, especially since they had a picture of Tyre's god baal on them?
BIBLE TRIVIA-What king of Judah led the country into sin by marrying the daughter of the wicked Ahab?
Yesterday's answer-Hazael (2 Kings 8:15)
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALM 136:16-22
16 He led his people through the desert. His love continues forever.
17 He defeated great kings. His love continues forever.
18 He killed powerful kings. His love continues forever.
19 He defeated Sihon king of the Amorites. His love continues forever.
20 He defeated Og king of Bashan. His love continues forever.
21 He gave their land as a gift. His love continues forever.
22 It was a gift to his servants, the Israelites. His love continues forever.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER
