Monday March 26, 2012 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubts, as young as your self confidence, as old as your fears, as young as your hope, as old as your despair-
2-"To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God"-
3-The wisdom of the ages is nothing compared to the promises of God-
4-We keep the best of that which we give away-
5-One of the marks of mature Christians is that they desire the giver more than his gifts-
STRANGE THOUGHT-You can lead a man to knowledge but you cannot make him think-
I'VE LEARNED-Give until it hurts. No, giving takes the hurt away!!-
DID YOU KNOW-Everyone believed in the Middle Ages, as Aristotle had, that the heart was the seat of intelligence-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Does God require sacrifices?
2-Was the rich young ruler who came to Jesus asking how he could get eternal life really searching for the correct answer or merely looking how he could purchase it with his wealth or good religious life?
3-Does any religion not require "good works" to make it to eternal life?
4-What is meant by "the gospel of 2nd chance"?
5-Was Joseph of Arimathea related to Jesus?
BIBLE TRIVIA-Who plotted to have the entire Hebrew nation completely exterminated?
Yesterday's answer-The song of Solomon
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY Matthew 5:27-30
27 "You have heard that it was said, 'You must not be guilty of adultery.' 28 But I tell you that if anyone looks at a woman and wants to sin sexually with her, in his mind he has already done that sin with the woman.29 If your right eye causes you to sin, take it out and throw it away. It is better to lose one part of your body than to have your whole body thrown into hell. 30 If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying man Father, as Your children we need to regularly examine our hearts to see if there are things, pursuits, or attitudes that are drawing us away from Your heart and thrusting us once again into the Mindset of the world. Our heart’s examinations are not intended to condemn us but to rid impurity, refresh our spirit, and remind us of our godly heritage. Father, since You know our hearts more than we do ourselves, reveal to us that which helps and that which hinders our Christian walk. It’s Your kindness that leads us to repentance. You do not hover over us in judgment, but walk alongside us assuring us of Your unwavering love and boundless mercy that will see us through on this side of the journey. We walk it step by step holding to the right hand of Jesus in whose name we pray. Amen.

GREATLY BLESSED, HIGHLY FAVORED, IMPERFECT BUT FORGIVEN CHILD OF GOD!!!
