Sunday Mach 18, 2012 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-You'll never regret saying a kind word-
2-Often times we call someone cold when they are really sad-
3-It is never too late to give up your prejudices-
4-Maturity is being wiser than yesterday-
5-A house is not a home unless it provides food and warmth for the soul as well as for the body-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Having an affair to avoid loneliness is like burning down your house to keep warm-
I'VE LEARNED-Don't confuse bad luck with bad judgement-
DID YOU KNOW-In the nineteenth century, the British Navy attempted to dispel the superstition that Friday was an unlucky day to embark on a ship. The keel of a new ship was laid on a Friday; she was named HMS Friday, commanded by a Captain Friday, and finally went to sea on a Friday. Neither the ship nor the crew was ever heard of again.
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-When Jesus says we are forgiven, why do we still want to carry the guilt?
2-When Jesus says "Don't worry", why do we?
3-Can God turn all tragedies into triumph?
4-What happened to Jesus on the Saturday of the crucifixion weekend?
5-Why didn't the religious leaders want to crucify Jesus' disciples also?
BIBLE TRIVIA-What was the hometown of Mary, Martha and Lazarus?
Yesterday's answer-Philippi Acts 16:16
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY Matthew 4:1-11
The Temptation of Jesus
1 Then the Spirit led Jesus into the desert to be tempted by the devil. 2 Jesus fasted for forty days and nights. After this, he was very hungry. 3 The devil came to Jesus to tempt him, saying, "If you are the Son of God, tell these rocks to become bread."

4 Jesus answered, "It is written in the Scriptures, 'A person lives not on bread alone, but by everything God says.' "

5 Then the devil led Jesus to the holy city of Jerusalem and put him on a high place of the Temple. 6 The devil said, "If you are the Son of God, jump down, because it is written in the Scriptures:
'He has put his angels in charge of you.
They will catch you in their hands
So that you will not hit your foot on a rock.' " — Psalm 91:11–12

7 Jesus answered him, "It also says in the Scriptures, 'Do not test the Lord your God.' "

8 Then the devil led Jesus to the top of a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and all their splendor.9 The devil said, "If you will bow down and worship me, I will give you all these things."

10 Jesus said to the devil, "Go away from me, Satan! It is written in the Scriptures, 'You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.' "

11 So the devil left Jesus, and angels came and took care of him.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Praying manFather, we know that when athletes go into strict training to reach their physical goals, there is great sacrifice involved. Their schedule, appetites, exercise, endurance, and Mindset must be yielded to their physical training with the goal of winning the prize. As believers, we too must be willing to sacrifice earthly loss in exchange for heavenly gain. We must lay aside that which takes our mind off the prize and fix our eyes upon the Author and Finisher of our faith who will reward us with the heavenly crown of righteousness as we run the race to the finish line. This crown will never perish, spoil or fade and is awaiting us already in heaven. Keep us faithful and trusting till we receive it on that glorious day. Amen.

WISHING YOU LOVE IN YOUR HEART.....PEACE IN YOUR SOUL.....AND JOY IN YOUR LIFE.....ALWAYS!!!
