Monday December 7, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-God doesn't give a church more people than they can handle-
2-Where the power and presence of Jesus is, people go-
3-People are not persuaded, they are attracted-
4-To be a disciple of Jesus means to accept his requirements unconditionally-
5-A disciple of Jesus is not called to a program of self development but to service and suffering-

STRANGE THOUGHT-A fine is a tax for doing wrong.  A tax is a fine for doing well-

I'VE LEARNED-Read something no one else is reading-

DID YOU KNOW-There is no such thing blue food, even blueberries are purple-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How much did the Greek culture affect the early apostle writings-
2-How can we adequately understand today the New Testament if we are not fluent in the Greek language of the early church?
3-Why didn't Jesus leave any written instructions for the early followers?
4-Is there anywhere in the New Testament that tells Christians when they should meet together or how often they should observe communion?
5-Does church attendance increase indicate God's blessing?

BIBLE TRIVIA-This new testament passage is from what old testament book-"My house is the house of prayer!"    Luke 19:46
Answer for today    Isaiah 56:7

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY      Luke 17:20-21
20 Some of the Pharisees asked Jesus, “When will the kingdom of God come?”
Jesus answered, “God’s kingdom is coming, but not in a way that you will be able to see with your eyes. 21 People will not say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ because God’s kingdom is within you.”

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Jesus, You are the Light of the world. And because You reside in our hearts we are a reflection of Your holy light. The world we live in is dark and growing even darker as Satan’s sinister and deceitful schemes are being played out. Help us not to dismiss the darkness that is spreading lest the darkness overshadow us in time. Instead we ask You to empower us through the light of Your Holy Spirit to shine in a wicked and decadent society. We come against the darkness by speaking against wickedness in all forms. And, Lord, help us to be consistent not only in what we speak but the manner in which we live, for our actions often speak louder than our words.  May the “fruit of the light consisting in all goodness, righteousness, and truth” be evident in all we do since we have “put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.”  It is in Your name, Jesus, that we pray.  Amen.

MAY YOU HAVE ENOUGH HAPPINESS TO MAKE YOU
SWEET, ENOUGH TRIALS TO MAKE YOU STRONG, ENOUGH SORROW TO KEEP YOU HUMAN AND ENOUGH HOPE TO MAKE YOU HAPPY-
