Tuesday December 29, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Without sacrifice there is no love-
2-The Bible is not just a book of words for us to read but truths to change our lives-
3-Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves-
4-God will give us the grace if we initiate the action-
5-All of the flowers of all the tomorrows are in the seeds of today-

STRANGE THOUGHT-A foolish person is a "know it all"-

I'VE LEARNED-Abraham was originally an idol worshipper-

DID YOU KNOW-The most popular restaurant food is french fries-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW-
1-Why was satan in Eden in the form of a snake?
2-Did God create the serpent evil or did satan enter and possess it?
3-Why didn't God warn Adam and Eve about the deceitful serpent?
4-When Adam and Eve were cast out of Eden for their disobedience, did all the animals leave also, including the serpent?
5-If God didn't create the evil serpent, how did it get into Eden?

BIBLE TRIVIA-This new testament passage comes from what old testament book-"Put off thy shoes from thy feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground"?  Acts 7:33
Answer for today  Exodus 3:5

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY   LUKE 19:37-40
37 As he was coming close to Jerusalem, on the way down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of followers began joyfully shouting praise to God for all the miracles they had seen. 38 They said,
“God bless the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Psalm 118:26
There is peace in heaven and glory to God!”
39 Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, tell your followers not to say these things.”
40 But Jesus answered, “I tell you, if my followers didn’t say these things, then the stones would cry out.”

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying manFather, I pray for an attitude of thankfulness like Paul wrote about where I give thanks in everything. In doing so I deliberately look for the blessings right in the midst of a trial and see beauty where once there was ashes. You also help me to see the everyday blessings others bring to my life in ways that I would otherwise lack; the postman who delivers my mail; the garbage collector who picks up my trash; the employer who provides a paycheck; the medical team that responds to my critical need; the church family that provides loving support during a time of crisis; the faithful family member that keeps vigil until the loved one passes from here to glory. All of these and so much more make up the everyday events of life that make living more loving and memories more lasting. May we be grateful instead of grumbling, givers instead of takers, loving instead of indifferent, and thankful to those who make a positive contribution to our daily living. Amen.

I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-
