Wednesday December 23, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Jesus loves you for who you are, not what you did or where you come from or what you have-
2-You are never a prisoner of someone you love, only of someone you hate-
3-Jesus says, I want all of you for all of me-
4-If you pause to think you will have cause to thank-
5-God doesn't intervene in our lives to take sides, he does so to take over-

STRANGE THOUGHT-(spoken by a mother)-I could be an ideal mother if it wasn't for my kids-

I'VE LEARNED-It is possible to work hard and still lose everything if the timing is wrong, or the resources to carry it out are not in place-

DID YOU KNOW-The average American chews 190 sticks of gum per year-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What does God promise us about the pain we go through?
2-Does God always send help when we ask him for it?
3-Why did God call young David to be king and then return him to the sheep pasture?
4-Does the "high road" ever lead over the cliff?
5-At creation, God took a day of rest.  Does he still do that today?

BIBLE TRIVIA-This new testament passage comes from what old testament book-"Thou will not leave my soul in hell, neither will thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption" ?   Acts 2:27
Answer for today     Psalm 16:10

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY    Luke 19:6-10
Zacchaeus came down quickly and welcomed him gladly. All the people saw this and began to complain, “Jesus is staying with a sinner!”
But Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “I will give half of my possessions to the poor. And if I have cheated anyone, I will pay back four times more.”
Jesus said to him, “Salvation has come to this house today, because this man also belongs to the family of Abraham. 10 The Son of Man came to find lost people and save them.”

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying manFather, You have placed Your children in a world where people push and shove to be first. Because of their self-importance they clamor for recognition and will stop at nothing until they get what they want in life, good or bad. But You’ve called us to view life from a perspective that considers others as important as ourselves. We are to have a humble attitude that puts You first, others second and ourselves last in everything we do. In our humanity this is impossible, but as we are being transformed into the likeness of Your Son, Jesus, we become more like Him. Our love and consideration for others grow and we apply the golden rule to our lives where we do to others as we would have them do to us. May this relationship rule guide us as we make decisions that affect others and us.  Help us to have the mind of Christ in all that we do.  Amen.

LIVE SIMPLY! LOVE GENEROUSLY! CARE DEEPLY! SPEAK KINDLY! LEAVE THE REST WITH GOD!
