Friday January 29, 2010 thought for the day

PRETTY WINTER SCENE
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-If we want to make ends meet, we need to get off ours and go out and meet it-
2-Mountain tops are for views and inspiration, but fruit is grown in the valleys-
3-Think like a man of action, act like a man of thought-
4-Life is not a candle, it is a burning torch to be passed on-
5-Trust is faith in action-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Money can't buy you friends, but it gets you a better class of enemy-
I'VE LEARNED-Cooperation can only be reached if we work together-
DID YOU KNOW-When first lady Eleanor Roosevelt received an alarming number or threatening letters soon after her husband became president at the height of the Depression, the secret service insisted that she carry a pistol in her purse-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What is the criteria to being a Christian?
2-Is it possible the church is full of people who aren't Christian and don't know it?
3-Should becoming a Christian be made more difficult to ensure people know what they are doing and not just making an emotional expression?
4-Should becoming a Christian be made easier so more people would want to be included?
5-How can we determine whether another person is a Christian or do we have the ability to judge that?
BIBLE TRIVIA-What King of Israel reigned only two years and was murdered while he was fighting against the Philistines?
Yesterday's answer-Abijah (1 Kings 15:6)
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALM 123
1 Lord, I look upward to you, you who live in heaven.
2-Slaves depend on their masters, and a female servant depends on her mistress. In the same way, we depend on the Lord our God; we wait for him to show us mercy.
3 Have mercy on us, Lord. Have mercy on us, because we have been insulted.
4 We have suffered many insults from lazy people and much cruelty from the proud.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER
