Saturday January 30, 2010 thought for the day

LOOKS VERY COLD!!
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Prayer isn't overcoming God's reluctance, it is laying hold of his highest willingness-
2-Take your setback and turn it into a comeback-
3-God loves you even if you deny he exists-
4-God should not be first in your life---he should be your life-
5-Worry is being anxious about something in the future-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Your emotion and your knowledge are related, for the less you know the hotter you get-
I'VE LEARNED-God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do-
DID YOU KNOW-President Harry Truman's middle name was just S and was not short for anything. His parents could not decide between two different names beginning with S.
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Can someone else be a Christian and do something we don't approve of?
2-Can you become a Christian through confirmation?
3-As long as someone asks Jesus into their heart, says the sinners prayer, signs a decision card or follows the four spiritual laws, are they then a part of God's family?
4-Should we take someone's initial positive response to the gospel as absolute assurance they are saved?
5-How much does raising your hand or walking down an aisle to an altar have to do with becoming saved?
BIBLE TRIVIA-What man violently protested having a king in Israel, though he himself anointed the first two kings?
Yesterdays's answer-Nadab (1 Kings 15:26-27)
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALM 124
1 What if the Lord had not been on our side?
2 What if the Lord had not been on our side when we were attacked?
3-When they were angry with us, they would have swallowed us alive.
4 They would have been like a flood drowning us; they would have poured over us like a river.
5 They would have swept us away like a mighty stream.
6 Praise the Lord, who did not let them chew us up.
7 We escaped like a bird from the hunter's trap.
8 Our help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
